Job Description

You'll be working in a team environment alongside other Engineers, Hydraulic Modellers and Asset Planners in the delivery of water, wastewater and/or drainage infrastructure projects. We provide flood prevention solutions for foul and surface water systems, design overflow improvements to reduce spills and pollution, review development proposals for water companies and design highways drainage systems that include SUDs solutions wherever possible.

With opportunities to further develop and apply your technical skills, you will contribute to accurate and efficient delivery of projects for internal and external Clients. You will exercise engineering judgment and have opportunities to provide solutions to engineering problems. You will be a proactive and collaborative team member.

A typical week would include:

  • Undertake Hydraulic Modelling (network model builds/upgrades/calibration/operational response assessment).
  • Undertake feasibility studies and options development assessments for infrastructure wastewater/drainage schemes.
  • Asset Risk Prioritization Modelling.
  • Progress infrastructure asset management projects in a collaborative team environment.
  • Undertake own continuing professional development under guidance from Line Managers.
  • Operate in accordance with the corporate health and safety, environmental and quality standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
We'd love to hear from you if you have: A Civil Engineering or Environmental degree and progressing on your journey towards professional qualification with ICE, IEI, CIWEM, CIHT or IoW. Post Graduate experience in a similar role, focusing on Highways and Urban Drainage. A solid understanding of Urban Drainage / Drainage Design including SUDS. A full UK Driving License is advantageous. Good presentation, written and verbal communication skills in English. Good IT skills are paramount, as well as the ability to use bespoke engineering software (ACAD/ACAD Civil 3D and/or MapInfo/QGIS/ArcGIS). Working knowledge of MicroDrainage and/or Innovyze ICM will be advantageous.
