Job Description

As a Civil Engineering Trainee, you will be involved in the planning, designing and supporting construction and maintenance of infrastructure aiming to improve and protect the environment in which we live. As you develop responsibilities will include site investigations, liaising with clients and subcontractors as well as internal Kier teams. Managing budgets, resources and ensuring projects run to health and safety, sustainability and legal requirements
This 5 year BEng Honors degree programme, in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, will give you a professional career pathway into the fast growing and exciting construction Industry, opening up a wide variety of career opportunities, including: Civil Engineering, Geotechnics, Structural analysis, design and detailing, Building Information Modelling & CAD and Health and Safety.
On this fully-funded degree programme you will be taught via a blended learning approach. This means a mixture on online training, guided reading and face to face teaching where accommodation and meals will also be provided. In between learning you will be working full-time, gaining valuable experience towards your professional development.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be eligible for the programme you must meet the following requirements: At least 4 Scottish National 5 qualification A - C including math and English or 4 GCSEs including Math’s and English at C/4 or above. 3 Scottish Advanced Higher grade A- D (including math and a physical science) or 3 A levels grade A* - C (including Math’s and physical science) or an equivalent level 3 ICE accredited diploma / BTEC. A driving license is required due to the travel required from site to site.
