Job Description

You will be responsible for supervising / planning the day to day works on the fiber/cabling element of their projects in Central Scotland.

You will be responsible for day-to-day site supervision of projects, material and resource planning for the delivery of works, budgetary control and resource supervision to ensure projects are delivered to agreed financial limits and meet Clients’ expectations in relation to programme, customer service requirements and quality.

You will control project progress and work standards, ensuring that safe working practices are followed and assets are built to the adopting network operator’s specifications. You will address and resolve problems and complaints ensuring a pro-active approach is maintained to build successful working relationships with all sub-contractors within the project including both internal and external stakeholders.

Day to day tasks are as follows (but not limited to):

  • Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality inspections with sub-contractors.
  • Direct and supervise day to day operations of employees/sub-contractors ensuring appliance of common operational procedures.
  • Ensure material requisitions are issued in adequate time to achieve the Construction Programme.
  • Schedule, control and monitor all plant and materials on a weekly basis.
  • Liaise with the Project management team regarding cost control, waste management, variations and confirmation of instructions.
  • Carrying out safety inspections and fulfilling the health, safety and welfare responsibilities
  • Provide guidance on and monitor your team’s approach to safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain site safety at all times and complete daily risk assessments where required.
  • Provide daily costs of labor, material, sub-contractors and hours.
  • Ensure all team members conform to instructions stated in Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Ensure that accidents and near misses are suitably reported, recorded and investigated, and that remedial action is carried out promptly.
  • Report any concerns regarding SHE to the SHEQ team and your Manager.
  • Take charge in emergencies, ensuring correct procedures are followed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
NRSWA qualification. SSSTS/SMSTS qualification. UK Driving License. Previous Supervisory experience gained in similar industry. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work individually and as part of a team. Good health and safety knowledge and practices. Good team and man management skills, being able to drive team to achieve deadlines in a challenging environment.
