As a Project Engineer, you will ensure customer requirements are satisfied through the pre-construction phase and also continually seek to progress and improve with support from the Project Managers and Senior Project Managers. Your main focus points will be as below:
Contribute to the bid process from inception through to price submission
Assist in the development of projects from inception through to site readiness.
Building relationships with the internal teams, the client, and other relevant contractors and communicate effectively between all parties.
Main Duties
Assist in preparing supplier / subcontractor enquiry packages and liaise with Procurement to obtain competitive and compliant prices from the supply chain.
Liaise with multiple business functions and contractors to ensure successful delivery of the project.
Identifying any risks/opportunities in the project and mitigating risks.
Presenting at internal tender reviews to demonstrate / explain how the price has been built up and to justify a robust pricing model.
Presenting at internal contract award kick-off meeting to the pre-construction team and members of the wider business that will be involved in the construction phase.
Liaising with Estimators to produce a coherent, compliant, competitive and auditable estimates to be submitted on time.
Producing concise and professionally worded price submissions that clearly identify all relevant scope inclusions and exclusions.
Ensure priced submissions are technically and commercially compliant, seeking further advice when needed.
Responsible for ensuring the production of concise agreed set of deliverables ready for handing projects to WGM delivery
Financial reporting of projects up to point of handover to the construction team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Relevant construction qualification at HND, Degree level or equivalent. Background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering. Knowledge of construction management processes means and methods. Clear understanding of NEC form of contract is preferable. Excellent time and project management skills. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Valid UK Driving license is essential.
