Job Description

The successful candidate will work in a client-facing role with lead responsibilities for excellent project delivery, valued outcomes and great customer service. Our clients range from small developers to large construction and utilities companies; projects range from short-term interventions to multi-year contracts.

Core technical project areas include:

  • Construction environmental and ecological management.
  • Management of environmental and ecological sub-contractors.
  • Environmental impact assessment, planning and development.
  • Environmental management plan development.
  • Environmental permit applications and monitoring / management.

Additional technical project areas include:

  • Biodiversity net gain.
  • Circular economy and resource efficiency.
  • Environmental legal compliance and permitting.
  • Chemical and waste management.
  • Contaminated land.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and position requirements.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Construction site operations and environmental management. Ecological project management from proposal stage to project completion. Organized, logical and structured; attention to detail. Communication and training delivery skills. Business development. Creative thinking and ability to identify and drive new business opportunities and projects. Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional software packages. Language skills (English minimum). GIS proficiency (desirable). Honors or Master’s Degree in environmental management, environmental studies, ecology or a related subject. Membership of a relevant professional body such as CIEEM / IEMA and/or be chartered. CSCS card holder. Experience and competence (as related to the technical project areas listed above) in: A successful track record of working as Environmental Manager or ECoW on construction sites is essential. Handling and management of ecological survey data. Addressing of ecological and other planning requirements such as preparation of Habitat Management Plans, Monitoring Plans or CEMPs. Effective task and project management. Communicating successfully with individuals at all levels. Professional services delivery and technical sales (desirable). Desire and enthusiasm to be successful. Tenacious; a ‘self-starter’ with commercial awareness. Interest and motivation for continuous professional development. Good professional network for sub-contractor use. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to motivate others to implement solutions and to drive sales. Adaptable and flexible.
