Job Description

The Flexible Solutions Team (FST) are responsible for the design, construction and management of SSEN's suite of smart-grid solutions, such as the Active Network Management (ANM) Systems and Flexible Connections. In this role you will:

• Manage the specification, design and delivery of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) projects within the Flexible Solutions Team (FST)

• Implement and operate effective project controls whilst applying lessons learned from previous projects, to manage project budgets, risks, issues and dependencies

• Provide relevant technical expertise during ICT technical assessment, planning and development, in order to drive best value for the business whilst ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and license obligations

• Collaborate with the wider FST members, IT and relevant technical authorities to establish effective solution designs (including systems integration)

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have: Significant experience and ability managing, delivering and implementing complex ICT systems, ideally within distribution networks or the wider utilities sector. A disciplined, organized approach, consistent with working in a regulated business and the ability to employ effective project controls. Project or Programme Management accreditation desirable (PRINCE2) and experience of Lean, Agile or alternative delivery methodologies. Working knowledge of IT systems and relevant Operational Technology systems and equipment (including Industrial Control Systems, SCADA and intelligent devices). A flexible, helpful yet determined approach to work, strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
