Job Description
We currently have an opportunity for a commercially minded leader to join our team as our Supply Chain Commercial Specialist. This role can be based from any of our key offices in the UK.
As a member of the Project Services Team, you will play a vital role supporting our regional approach to transforming our supply chain management approach to create a streamlined approach to procurement and sourcing, embedding a projects and performance culture with our project teams to deliver on our corporate requirements and achieve social value commitments throughout our supply chain.
Reporting to the Director of Projects, you will work with sales and operations to apply functional oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle (pursuit, initiation, planning, execution, management and closeout) including the pre-qualification of suppliers and the management and closeout of project subcontracts.
This role will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of the needs of our cross-sector operations and develop connections with global stakeholders. You will deepen your understanding of business operations and corporate requirements. You will also:
- Lead management of the Jacobs global supply management and procurement function within the region, working closely with functions including Ethics, Compliance, HSE and Quality, to meet corporate compliance including fulfilling the “Process Owner” role for the region on Global Supply Management continuous improvement initiatives and Business Management System (BMS) updates.
- Steer development of sourcing strategies to cement Jacobs role as leaders in our industry in achieving UK government policy, including the preparation and implementation of associated policies and procedures including but not limited to prompt payment, SME engagement, modern slavery, IR35, Bribery & Corruption and GDPR.
- Develop our sourcing strategy, transitioning our supply chain and procurement approach and enabling our supply partners to work with us to achieve our Jacobs Together Beyond and Pland Beyond strategies to drive inclusion, diversity, justice, equality and sustainability principles and deliver our social value goals. Interfacing with regulators to understand policy direction, implications and actions required.
- Engaging with the supply chain to ensure we can deliver against our commitments to our clients and supporting adoption of the Collaborative Working when we work in partnership with others to support our ISO44001 Registration.
- Work with sales to look at future procurement needs and ensuring we have appropriate approved suppliers to meet business needs and support major bids if there are large supply chain involvements.
- Support the operations team on all subcontract commercial matters including pursuit, initiation/planning, execution, management and closeout, including training to the regional and project teams.
- Provide input into preparation of templates plans and procedures as it relates to contracting, procurement, subcontract and commercial services.
- Participate in developing commercial strategies with the Project Managers and project teams to adopt sound controls and accountability in pursuit, delivering and closeout of project to agreed targets.
- Provide leadership with the Global Business Services (GBS) team.
- Work with legal and Global Supply Management on agreeing standard terms and conditions
- Work with Global Supply Management and Corporate Procurement on changes to global policies, procedures, work instructions etc.
