Job Description
We’re looking for an Assistant Management Accountant/Fuel Analyst to join our accounts team, to control road vehicle fuel supplier accounts and costs. If you’re highly organised and like a challenge, this could be the perfect role for you. Based in Hedge End, you’ll be working in our brand new open plan offices with great facilities and motorway access. It’s a very close team, so you will experience a warm welcome as well as a great level of support from your fellow colleagues.
When you join the Jewson team, we’ll be calling on your Management accounting experience as you support with;
Month end journals, accruals and assisting in preparation of month end accounts.
Reporting on emissions and carbon, weekly fuel prices and usage, and additional expenditure.
Preparation, production, and management of transport fuel budgets.
We’ll also need your analytical mind-set to help discover opportunities for improvement in efficiency within the group. This could be in the form of recommending changes in process or education of fuel card uses, development of agreements with suppliers, or even something we’ve not yet seen.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
You’ll need to be comfortable managing stakeholders with different needs, and advocating for why your project will drive change and add value to what we do. Support will be given in this area, as we provide an environment that promotes innovation and fresh thinking. We also value attitude and drive, and are happy to develop the right person. As a base to give you the best chance of success, we imagine your background and experience would include; A couple of year experience in a similar financial role. Exposure to logistics, distribution, fleet management – of something similar. Working on projects where you’ve taken ownership of an area and seen this through to implementation. Being very comfortable with Excel, and are able to organise, present, and interpret data. Working well in a small team, managing your own workload, and prioritising tasks.
