A Finance Assistant role within a global Publishing company supporting the Senior Financial Accountant. A temporary to permanent position with an immediate start.

My client are an independent global publishing company based in West London that sells its products across 27 different countries. Its major markets are UK, France Germany and USA. My client specialise in publishing high quality book series, magazines and collectable components such as figurines. Throughout the last couple of years the company has seen a huge boom in their Ecommerce business and so candidates with Ecommerce experience would be highly considered.

The vacancy is for a Finance Assistant and will be offered as a temporary to permanent contract. Ideally the candidate will be available to start immediately to ensure a handover. The role will be part of a large Finance team of 13 people and will report into the Senior Financial Accountant. The key purpose of the role is to carry out a full range of Treasury duties but also to support the Financial Accountant. You will ensure that all banking activities and payment runs are carried out as efficiently as possible. You will work closely with the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team and so must be an excellent communicator.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide a weekly consolidated cash report to the CFO
• Process all transfers and payments (internal and external)
• Run the weekly payment runs
• Manage up to 40 bank accounts with Santander
• Reconcile all petty cash on a monthly basis
• Complete weekly bank reconciliations to ensure all accounts fully reconcile and monthly bank reconciliation checks to the general ledger
• Quarterly royalty calculations and preparation of royalty statements

You will also occasionally assist the Financial Accountant with intercompany reconciliations and recharges, VAT submissions for 15 countries and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Essential - immediately available
• Essential - experience within a Treasury role OR bank reconciliations and multicurrency experience
• Essential - studying or desire to study for AAT or ACCA qualifications
• Essential - strong Excel skills (must complete an Excel test as part of application)
• Essential - proven ability to work with excellent attention to detail
• Desirable - experience with SAP Business One or Microsoft Dynamics
• Desirable - experience with Ecommerce
