Job Description

Our client is a growing SME business based in close proximity to Southampton, in Hampshire. They are seeking to recruit a Financial Controller on a permanent basis to assist them with their next phase of anticipated growth. The role will report to the MD/CEO and will manage a small team with responsibility for producing the company accounts but will also work closely to support operations.

The key responsibilities will include producing and reviewing management and statutory accounts, ensuring the integrity of financial systems and controls and overviewing other key areas such as cash management/treasury, VAT and payroll. There will be an opportunity to assist to drive continuous improvement and the role will be very actively involved in analysis to interpret trading data by product/market etc. to assist in business decision support. The FC will take hands on responsibility for budgeting, forecasting and assisting with profitability analysis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This will be a broad and varied role with great future prospects to develop into a FD position in the future. The successful individual will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with relevant PQE, ideally including some previous team management & development. Strong Excel skills and experience of using BI Tools would be highly advantageous.
