Finance Analyst

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, our client is a well-established and leading business that has experienced year on year growth is looking for a Finance Analyst to join their team on an initial 6 month Fixed Term Contract, with a view of going permanent after.

This job would suit somebody with excellent Excel skills and the ability to make strategic decisions and add value to business reporting through effective analysis and busines partnering. This position is 50%-month end management accounting and 50% analysis and will therefore suit an experienced Management Accountant with excellent Excel, looking for a move into analysis.

The company has seen significant developments in its market over the last couple of years resulting in growth of their operations and growth in their day to day transactions. They continue to go from strength to strength with projects continuing across their market.

The successful individual will preferably have experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting as well as management accounts. It is vital the candidate has strong IT skills with advanced Excel. Great communication skills are essential as is excellent attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure.

Duties will include:

• Preparation of regular Financial KPI Reports and dashboards, including the provision of commentary to explain variances and trends within the financial results of the company
• Provide insightful financial analysis, using large volumes of financial data from various sources, identifying trends, patterns and anomalies
• Create reports and present financial analysis to internal stakeholders including Senior Management, Directors and the Chief Executive
• Liaise with budget holders to review their monthly management accounts, correcting any identified errors and establishing the cause of variances to budget or forecast and agreeing action plans to rectify these where possible
• Review financial management information alongside the Management Accountant on a regular basis, identifying and reporting matters of likely current or future concern
• Take a lead role in the development of a quarterly forecast process for the company
• Support managers to provide quarterly forecasts and prepare annual revenue budgets
• Assist the Management Accountant in liaising with the external auditors, providing requested information and resolving queries in a timely manner
• Assist the Senior Management Accountant with the preparation of the company's Annual Accounts and Financial Statements
• Respond flexibly to any necessary changes in work priorities and undertake other duties when required to support the effective operation of the service
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures
