What does our Sustainability team do?

Sustainability is about improving the lives of workers throughout the supply chain, while working in a way to protect the environment and promote animal welfare.

The Role:
To provide administrative, data analysis and communications support to the Sustainability team in all aspects of raising the sustianability profile within the business and our supply base.
What will I be doing?
 

  • Support the progress of New Looks raw materials strategy
  • Run sustainable raw material reports, ensuring data is up to date and validated, communicating with buying teams and suppliers
  • Manage external platforms and relationships with key partners (SAC, BCI, Textile exchange etc.)
  • Support with the management and maintenance of internal (Lighthouse Editrack) and external (Sedex) data system
  • Register new suppliers and factories communicating New Look requirements
  • Manage and maintain the existing supply base, ensuring all suppliers and factories meet New Look requirements
  • Support the Sustainability team in preparation for the briefings, presentations, training and updates to the business
  • Responding to raw material and ethical queries from the suppliers
  • Manage administrative tasks for the Sustainability department:

1. Send monthly factory updates to regional and Supply Base teams
2. Monitor and manage the Factory Audit Inbox and send weekly updates to regional teams
3. Monitor the Ethical Support Inbox and raise queries to be addressed to the team
4. Review cargo reports and follow up with suppliers to detect subcontracting cases
5. Monitor and collect industry news and assist the department in research exercises
6. Write up and send the monthly press update internally
7. Conduct research on current industry sustainability initiatives, risks and best practice
8. Complete all regular reporting
9. Other ad hoc requests
About you
 

  • Interest in Ethical Trade, Environment and Animal Welfare issues
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to operate at all levels
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, research and investigation skills
  • Strong organisational skills with a logical and methodological approach to tasks
  • Ability to multi-task and thrives in demanding time pressured environment
  • Time management and being organised
  • Team player who demonstrates integrity
  • Presentation skills
  • PC advanced skills, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience working within an international supply chain
  • Experience of working cross culturally
  • Understanding of ethical audits and ETI Base Code

 

Minimum level of education or qualifications
 

  • A degree in a relevant field
