Job Description

We are looking for a newly qualified Accountant, who will be a key contributor to our Financial Control team. Your accounting skills will support us in maintaining the financial systems and processes to ensure that financial information is timely, accurate, complete and compliant. With relevant accounting requirements and expectations for the UK operating entity, you will report directly into our UK Financial Controller.

• You will contribute to the financial control function for UK being a key part of the month-end close and year-end close and ensure timely and accurate reporting, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of variances, according to globally established timelines
• Prepare month end accruals and other expense related journals for month and quarter end. Partner with Finance and Accounting department in relation to the month-end process
• Work with the Financial Controller UK, prepare the full suite of monthly financial statements for Clearpay, reporting on all material variances. Liaise with the Group Financial Control team on consolidation of the results into the Group results. Preparation of ad-hoc reports and analysis as required
• Work with the UK Financial Controller to ensure statutory reporting obligations are managed, embedding best practice external reporting. This includes liaising with external auditors
• Partner with the Accounts Payable and Merchant settlements teams to maintain best practice policies, processes, and internal controls to ensure the highest standards of financial integrity are attained as well as alignment with global ways of working
• Partner with the broader finance team to implement best practice policies, processes and internal controls to ensure the highest standards of financial integrity are attained as well as alignment with global ways of working
• Create and initiate new initiatives and procedures to support expanding team deliverables driven by business growth
• Ad hoc finance projects, including external audit requests, expense reporting, payroll, VAT and tax matters

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Financial accountant in a company with global operations. Background in Chartered environment highly valued. Excellent working knowledge of IFRS. Qualifications in Finance or Accounting, and membership of one of the accounting associations (ACCA, ACA, CIMA). Experience in managing the month end process, including complex balance sheet reconciliations. Experience in working with and liaising with external auditors for the year end reporting. Comfortable with change and working in a growth and fast pace environment. Hunger to learn, apply skills, and grow within the organization.. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliverables. Experienced in MS Excel. Excellent systems skills, ideally ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics).
