Job Description

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will work within a multi-disciplined Production Support Team, primarily responsible for the support, maintenance and development of internal and external infrastructure, in line with our technology roadmap. You will work with the latest infrastructure technologies both on premise and within the cloud. As new technologies are considered, you would assess their suitability for our business needs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• In-depth knowledge of deploying and supporting Windows Server 2003 through to current • Experience working with virtualisation technologies • Proficient in TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP and Firewall management • Accomplished in MS Active Directory and Group Policy • Experienced in project and task delivery in a technical environment from design through to live deployment • Proficient in writing technical documentation (e.g. standards, processes and design etc.) • The ability to join an out of hours on-call rota after successful probationary period has been completed • You will be required to work independently, be resourceful and show particular attention to detail. Must have an aptitude to learn, develop and adapt as circumstances or technologies change. • The ability be able to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal form with customers, colleagues and suppliers on all technical and non-technical levels. Desirable but not essential: • Software Defined Data Centre (i.e. systems, networks and storage solutions, configured and hosted within a Cloud environment) • Current versions of VMware infrastructure.
