The role will support the site in driving Safety, Health and Environmental performance – focusing on delivering & tracking strategic initiatives & improvement programmes. You will focus on implementing aligned and prioritised goals from group to site level.
To advise, guide and coach management on all matters relating to environment, health & safety and take direct responsibility for staff
To manage, develop and support site SHE roles in driving site performance and day to day tasks.
Agreeing site action plans and monitoring performance.
Supporting improvement projects at site and at group level.
Communicate and monitor the delivery of the corporate strategy.
Ensure the standard application of management systems across site.
Ensure understanding and implementation of management systems in line with ISO 14001 and ISO45001 where appropriate.
Support the group utility reduction programme and support on projects to deliver resource efficiency savings, identifying areas to reduce cost and maximise profit.
Provide regular communications to key stakeholders on SHE best practice and initiatives.
Provide support to sites on achieving customers sustainability targets.
Auditing and monitoring performance against management system, policy and legal compliance, with site SHE roles.
Investigating incidents and enforcement activity to verify any proposed corrective and preventative actions and ensure they are working effectively.
Review and advise on evidence of the determination of liability claims.
Study trend analysis from accidents/incidents, audit findings and advise management on areas of improvement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Management systems experience – e.g. ISO14001, ISO4500. Current and future UK and EU environmental and health & safety legislation. Management systems auditing. Significant experience in health, safety and environmental management. IEMA Associate member. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. Lead Auditor
