Job Description

Your key duties will involve challenging key business driver assumptions through liaison with business, stakeholders, and the Finance team. Driving the agenda through coordinating cross channel financial plans in each area, ensuring that financial planning and reporting methodology is best in class, providing new ideas for improving the planning process and identifying risk/opportunities in respect of income and surplus. You will take a lead on bids for new contracts and commercial opportunities, implement processes and prepare analysis to facilitate the regular reforecast of sales, contribution, and net profit for each business area. You will ensure strong cost control and seek efficiencies, capital forecast and design business case process, financial modelling and revenue streams to understand inform pricing, along with profitability analysis and interacting with senior managers to provide strategic support. You will support the financial controller with the design and facilitate the financial planning and reporting process, along with being knowledgeable about the wider commercial factors relating to the business. You will lead and motivate a small team of Finance Business Partners/Analyst along with supporting the CFO with ad-hoc projects and duties.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be considered for this hands-on permanent Commercial Finance Manager position you will have experience within a similar role, part-qualified/qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent, with experience producing financial analysis and reports, managing budgets and preparing business cases and customer proposals. You will have experience of management accounting and performance analysis, trained in a range of financial systems, with strong MS Excel skills. You will have excellent oral and written skills with proven ability to gain the confidence/influence senior leaders, along with the ability to review/present high-quality accurate data and reports. You will be ambitious and driven seeking progression and committed to continuously improving processes/systems. It would be advantageous but not essential if you have an understanding of the Education sector and experience leading/managing a small team.
