Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a fantastic opportunity for a practice trained accountant looking to make the next step in their career. Managing a small team, you will be responsible for managing the production and reporting of management and statutory accounts, and ensuring effective controls and processes are in place.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Production of accurate and timely management and statutory accounts
- Review and interpret the results to ensure integrity of the accounts, understanding key movements and variances
- Improve processes to ensure the Group remains fully compliant with IFRS
- Write accounting papers to explain the latest IFRS developments to senior management
- Maintenance of general ledgers
- Report financial accounting information as requested
- Manage the month-end process and timescales
- GL/balance sheet reconciliations - review, sign off and follow up on a monthly basis and any discrepancies investigated and resolved
- Review VAT returns and Intrastat returns
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual statutory information to parent company
- Tax packs
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- Manage fixed assets, verification and control
- Comply with internal and external financial policies, standards and controls, whilst understanding the impact of own role on other areas
- Work with the business to drive, improve and enhance controls, documentation and the control framework
