Job Description

Undertake detailed analysis of audits and complex performance data, providing reports, presentations and information appropriate for a range of audiences including managers, councillors and employees.
Undertake independent audits of social care cases and report findings to senior managers, providing challenge regarding practice in order to drive improvements.
Drive improvement planning through participation in senior management meetings, audits, completion of high level reports and action plans, as well as the development of policies, procedures and training workshops and/or programmes aimed at embedding good practice.
Author policies, procedures and guidance for social care and the multi-agency workforce, as identified through quality assurance activity, annual reviews, changes in legislation  and national best practice.
Lead on ensuring quality assurance information and communications are cascaded from senior managers to front line employees. Utilising available resources. 
Work with managers and the workforce to embed policies and procedures into practice, measuring the impact of such activities over time.
The Quality Assurance Lead Auditor will support internal and external inspection work including preparing for and dealing with statutory assessments as well as commissioned peer reviews.
The Quality Assurance Lead Auditor will support and drive the engagement of staff in quality assurance activities.
Develop and maintain the policy and communications index for the service.
Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as requested by management.
The Quality Assurance Lead Auditor will need to have knowledge of national and local government, public sector policy and developments.
Service improvement planning.
Knowledge of voluntary sector organisations and social enterprise.
The QA Lead must be familiar with the understanding of outcomes based accountability framework

The QA Lead Auditor will have proven experience of leading managing and co-ordinating people/teams and their work.
Experience of managing change. 
Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and multi-agency teams.
Involvement in Service Planning.
Risk Management and mitigation.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience of auditing and reviewing social care practice, in line with national best practice standards. Experience of communicating findings from quality assurance activities to a variety of audiences including to Senior Managers, at Board level as well as within workshops with frontline practitioners. Experience of authoring policies, procedures and guidance in line with local standards and national best practice. Experience of analysing performance data and articulating exception reports and trends. Experience of leading and developing action plans. Experience of working at a semi-autonomous level with Senior Managers.
