Job Description

The purpose of this Credit Manager role is to determine, develop and implement credit management within the business, ensuring that its revenue and income streams are administered to its advantage, using the most suitable lean processes.
Duties and Responsibilities will include: -
- Day to day management of a team of Credit Controllers
- Responsible for mentoring, developing and motivating the team day to day, dealing with any escalations or issues as they arise
- Maintaining efficient and relevant credit control and credit management controls to ensure the timely collection of overdue debt
- Managing a busy ledger for a £170 Million t/o business, generating over 200,000 invoices per annum
- Successful resolution of disputes to reach settlements fair for both the customer and business
- Working closely with the Process Manager and Commercial department to constantly review sales ledger processes to ensure that they are optimised to their full potential
- Analysing business data and external data in order to set and review credit limits for new and existing customers
- Mentoring and developing the team to maximise efficiency and productivity
- Maintaining regular contact with all customers through site visits, as well as in the form of written and verbal communications
- Making specific contact with external auditors on sales ledger issues


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Ideally ICM qualified although not essential * Have significant credit management experience * Staff management experience * Ability to analyse and interpret financial data to enable commercial and strategic decision making with logic and consistency * Have a thorough understanding of economic and accounting principles and practices * A sound business acumen with a strong understanding of the business and wider economic environment * Working knowledge of SAP would be highly desirable * Able to lead and manage change * Excellent people management and stakeholder engagement skills
