This is a hands on Management Accounting position which involves management accounts preparation including processing accruals, pre-payments and journals, profit and loss, as well as balance sheet reconciliations - experience of budgeting and forecasting would also be a huge advantage. The role involves putting together the management accounts pack and reporting to senior management, working very closely with the directors of the business and providing commentary. This role would suit an Accountant who is able to give that bit extra, has excellent attention to detail, is passionate about going above and beyond, and has commercial acumen, but is also not afraid to get stuck into the day to day and oversee the work of the Accounts Assistants and support with holiday cover etc when required.
Experience of working in a busy SME or Group environment would be an advantage, as would experience of using SAGE accountancy.
You will be a good rapport builder with a natural ability to get on with others and build strong and trusting relationships internally and externally.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to demonstrate a track record within industry Management Accounting and ideally be available to start quickly and at short notice as this is a contract position. A chartered Accountancy qualification is preferred (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
You will be hard working, a team player, and ambitious to achieve. You will be the type of Accountant who enjoys a varied work load and certainly enjoys being kept busy. Experience of managing a team would also be a big advantage.
