Job Description

We are looking for a highly-motivated, hard-working and committed psychology graduate. It is a 12 month contract to be part of a dynamic team working providing psychological interventions to substance misuse and criminal justice clients. Our expectations of success are high (and justified) and the team is a friendly, positive and creative one.
We are a high quality, comprehensive and integrated local service for young people, adults and older clients who are suffering from drug, alcohol and other addictions. We are an integrated partnership consisting of an NHS and third-sector organization that provides comprehensive and expert treatment for this client group.
You would be joining a well-established multi-disciplinary team; currently consisting of Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Drug and Alcohol Practitioners, Experts by Experience, Recovery Workers and Group facilitators.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Post holders will also be part of the administrative team and carry out routine admin tasks such as booking in of referrals and data analysis, carrying out audits and managing waiting lists within the service, as well as providing assistance with reception and phone cover. The post holder will be based in the ARC team and receive clinical supervision and support from other senior clinicians within the team. The post holder may also be required to work elsewhere within the area served by our Specialist services.You will need at least a 2:1 degree in psychology, an understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with addictions, hepatitis C and/or mental health problems, and/or experience of working with people with other disabilities, and good research skills. Experience of working with people with addictions would be valuable, but we recognize that not all applicants will have had this opportunity. Tailored induction and training will be provided to enable you to work effectively with this client group.
