Based from home normally within area of operation, the job compromises of working within established protocols and procedures to;
Take responsibility for the inspection of new homes under construction and/or associated uses
plan inspection visits to construction sites ensuring agreed service levels are met
Provide technical expertise, advice and guidance on construction
Inspect homes at key stages of construction in response to requests from builders
Record and report result of inspections to builders and their representatives
Record and maintain accurate inspection records
Assess sites for NHBC’s ‘Pride in the Job’ quality campaign.
Assess and reporting on the technical competence of builders applying for NHBC Registration.
About you
Proven and relevant housebuilding or construction experience and/or a construction related qualification such as City and Guilds, HNC, HND or NVQ (or equivalent)
Full driving licence
Able to listen, build rapport, establish credibility and build effective working relationships.
Able to tailor communications to meet the needs of the audience.
Able to influence and deal with potential disagreements in an assertive manner that maintains relationships.
IT literate and able to learn new software packages
Ability to work as part of a team.
Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Able to write clearly and succinctly in a well-structured and logical way.
Able to gather and analyse information to support decision making.
Plans and works in a systematic and organised way.
Applies specialist and detailed technical expertise.
Develops job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
Able to describe the house building process and how the trades interact with each other.
This is a physically demanding role requiring visits to construction sites and inspection of buildings throughout the whole of the build process. Including working frequently at height.
A keen interest in learning and keeping up to date with industry related improvements, building standards and developments.
Focus on customer satisfaction and delivering a quality service to agreed standards.
