BeMyFamily is the national information service for people interested in caring for a child in England through adoption, fostering and other care plans. The service runs national adoption exchange days and this role would assist with the logistics and planning for these national matching events.
One family finding initiative is the Activity Days, which provide the opportunity for prospective adopters and foster carers to meet and interact with harder to place children looking for families in a fun and supported environment. These children might be older, have particular needs or be part of a sibling group. Last year over 400 children benefited from attending an activity Day. Around 1 in every 4 children who attend these family finding events find their new family.
About the Role
The role would support the Adoptables young people’s project, the Adoptables is a peer support network for adopted young people. The main activities would be liaising with young people to organise and host meetings and supporting staff to deliver the sessions with young people across the country.
This role is to lead on the administrative support of the Activity Days Team, Be My Family and Adoptables project. The three projects have a small staff base and so this role is pivotal in supporting three national projects for Coram.
