Job Description

In the position of Property Accountant you will be responsible for the external assets and income derived from investments in property and securities, the other key duties are as follows;

* Preparation of quarterly/annual management accounts, forecasts and budgets for External Revenue including subsidiaries for the Senior Bursar, Finance and Expenditure committees.Prepare detailed variance analysis reports quarterly for capital, income and expenditure including ATF. Prepare quarterly/annual sales and purchase reports detailing transactions, values and gain & loss.
* Produce a detailed annual property valuation report from data provided by managing agents and reconcile to year end College and Subsidiary accounts. Provide detailed abatement reports for Council to approve write-offs.
* Lead administrator with Securities Custodian and fund managers. Process all subscriptions and redemption's, capital calls and distributions, set up new accounts. Prepare detailed monthly valuation reports. Ensure all Tax documentation is up to date.
* Maintain the property database ensuring all rent and insurance demands are issued in a timely manner and ensure aged debt reports are maintained and appropriate action taken. Ensure all income and expenditure is recorded accurately in the nominal ledger. Ensure all new leases, rent reviews, sales and purchases, lease expires etc... are correctly setup and all associated legal documentation is processed correctly.
* Ensure all properties are properly insured and any changes are notified to insurer. Arrange annual meeting with broker to discuss renewal, timing and renewal premium schedules. Update Propman with individual tenant premiums.
* Liaise with managing agents quarterly to ensure all capital expenditure has been identified and complete a year end reconciliation with them to ensure property valuations have taken all cap-ex into account. Preparation and reconciliation of agents fee accounts monthly. Liaise with agents and solicitors relating to property purchases, sales, lease expires, rent reviews etc..
* Provide solutions to daily queries. Ensure bank accounts are reconciled monthly and agree with TB. Ensure sealing lists are prepared and relevant documentation is prepared for sealing. Ensure that VAT is reported monthly, check quarterly VAT return. Maintain cash balances to maximise interest. Ensure reports are maintained and reconciled to agent's biannually for Investment Committee. Ensure all supplier invoices are coded correctly and paid in a timely manner.
* Provide reports for Senior Bursar for requests relating to investments.
* Provide College Accountant with period end accounts for input to College accounting system.
* Provide list of properties owned annually for College website.

The position of Property Accountant will be paying circa £40k on a daily rate or FTC basis, there is parking and onsite facilites, although this position will also be working from home for the first 2-3 months.
