Job Description

Responsibilities for the role include;

* Managing the finance operations and staff for all European offices

* Overseeing the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with both fee earning and business service team budget holders

* Managing the monthly European financial results

* Ownership of the financial audit processes, including the SAR's

* Cashflow management for all European offices including treasury functions and client accounting

* Monitoring and managing the WIP and credit control, reporting on debtor days, helping with collections when required and keeping Partners informed of any potential issues with lock up or client debts

The firm has recently invested in a number of new technologies for the finance function which are being used in the US and need to be adopted in the UK, the Head of Finance should be an implementer of change to start using these effectively. A review of all current finance processes is also required with a drive towards becoming as efficient as possible as well as to add consistency with firmwide policies. As the most senior accountant in Europe, the Head of Finance will work closely with Partners, including the London Managing Partner, when they require accounting expertise. These could be for any number of reasons including compliance issues, commercial aspects to client agreements or questions on cashflow, as well as ad hoc reporting and analysis requests. Therefore the role requires someone comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders who has the versatility to be able to adopt different communication methods according to their audience.
