Job Description

The successful applicant will be the primary point of contact for the South Region of the business (including Southampton and Portsmouth) providing professional advice and support on a range of HR issues, including basic employment legislation, employee relations, policy and procedures, payroll and absence management.

Responsibilities of the HR Assistant:

- Take an active role in ensuring monthly pay claims meet payroll deadlines

- Assist the ongoing recruitment of care and support staff in a proactive, creative and positive way

- Acting as HR support on interview panels, where required

- Keeping statistics on all incoming applications

- Provide a timely and professional on boarding service; including DBS checks, obtaining references (as per CQC regulations) and booking induction

- Ensuring that candidates are kept well informed about their progress through the recruitment process

- Keep managers updated of progress of the recruitment
 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong organisational skills: proven ability to plan, work under pressure, multi-task and meet short deadlines - Good analytical skills - Ability to handle a large a varied workload - Experience of Microsoft packages specifically: MS Excel (Intermediate), MS Office (Intermediate). Experience of NGA (ResourceLink) - HR administration experience in a fast-paced HR department - Excellent customer service skills - High quality communicator in any media - A willingness to travel across the south coast to provide HR support at formal meetings - Able to work flexibly to reflect the needs of the team and take on additional/different duties - Project management skills - HR systems reporting experience - CPP/CIPD qualified
