Job Description

The job

This role is responsible for coordinating and assuring the quality control for fresh fish and processed fish through supporting the purchasing department, carrying out quality checks at Regional Distribution Centres, accompanying the Buyer on supplier visits plus maintaining product specifications.

Core duties:

  • Assisting in the implementation of processes, including monitoring, evaluation, documentation and communication of results in accordance with internal QA regulations
  • Working with Buyers to create new and develop existing product specifications
  • Preparation of comprehensive written and photographic quality standards for fish
  • Updating suppliers on quality aspects of sample products
  • Completing fresh fish audits at distribution centres and supplier production facilities
  • Strictly adhering to processes and procedures to ensure quality compliance

Your experience

To be successful in this role you will possess solid experience working in a quality assurance or technical role in the food manufacturing industry. A background of working with fish is essential including knowledge of fish cuts and being able to assess fish quality standards.

Knowledge of UK retailer standards would also be highly beneficial.

You will be highly organised, have fantastic attention to detail and be looking to join an international retail business where you can grow your food industry career.

A UK valid driving licence and the ability to travel within the UK is also required, including some overnight stays.

The Quality Administrator job is based in the London region and is paying £26,000 - £28,000 according to individual skills and previous experience.

The company also provides benefits including structured salary increases and progression opportunity, generous holiday allowance, pension scheme, discounts and money off leisure activities such as days out, cinema etc.

The working hours are Monday to Friday and will mostly be working from home at the current time. However, moving forwards you will work 2 days from home and 3 days in the office.
