Job Description

As an Administrator you will be required to:

  • Effectively collate, review and update data for a resource and incident plan, that is shared with rail industry stakeholders, by implementing a fit-for-purpose process including enhancements, graphical updates and that quality checks are ensured.
  • Compile a database of vulnerable persons reported by the Vulnerability Unit for Tasking Team Officers to disseminate VITAL Patrollers, Station Staff, TOC RSAS Accredited Rail Enforcement Officer and other BTP locations.
  • Compile and maintain a database of root cause stakeholder contact details, events and visits. Including school visits, BTP road shows, corporate visits and charity events and maintain a calendar of these events.
  • Engage in regular contact through telephone, e-mail, reports and face-to-face with internal and external stakeholders to ensure relevant operational information is shared in an understandable and actionable format.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Enhanced knowledge of IT systems and software relevant to the role, including Niche and Control Works. Proven use of information gathering skills and experience in collecting, reviewing and interpreting a wide range of datasets. Demonstrate ability to quality assure data and work returns to a high standard. Strong capacity in using specialized software related to own area of work to extract, interpret and report on data. Introduce new research techniques or ways of working at a team level. Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent qualification or work experience. Good understanding of the remit of BTP, operational policing practices and national policing priorities. Excellent understanding of the Microsoft suite of programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
