We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and dedicated Research Assistant to work on the UKRI ESRC funded research project, ‘Transformation in Mental Healthcare: An Anthropological Study of Open Dialogue in the UK's National Health Service (APOD)’ in the SOAS Anthropology Department. You would support the project’s basic research, dissemination and impact activities, and international networking on Open Dialogue under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
About the Role
Some of the key responsibilities are:
Supporting basic research and undertaking literature searches and dissemination activities.
Providing administrative support to the research project, including liaising with research partners, scheduling activities, handling correspondence, financial monitoring and management and expenses handling.
Helping the project meet its requirements for secure data management, data sharing and reporting (to funders and partners).
Assisting in the organisation of research events, such as away days, workshops, seminars and conferences, including providing a written record of workshop and conference proceedings, steering committee and other meeting minutes.
Assisting in the organisation of impact activities, national and international collaborations.
Maintaining a project website, writing and moderating blogs.
Contributing to the production of research reports and publications and supporting service-user and peer-led research outputs.
Liaising with research colleagues and making contacts for future collaboration.
About you
Ideally you will demonstrate:
That you hold a Master’s Degree in a relevant subject.
Proven experience of literature review
A clear understanding of the culture and environment of a research-intensive university or similar research or enterprise organisation
A specialist knowledge of and interest in psychological anthropology/ mental healthcare
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
Able to work independently and to participate fully as a team member.
