Job Description

As Key Account Manager you will be responsible for actively managing the well established key accounts to ensure SLA's are achieved while exceeding sales and profit margin targets You must have previous experience working in a Key Account Manager position ideally working with retail and/or the building industry.

The offices are based in south Leeds close to to the M62 so are easily accessible for people living in Wakefield, Huddersfield, Barnsley, Doncaster, Bradford and all areas of Leeds and surrounding areas.

The Job

You will be a proactively Key Account Manager who will support sustainable growth and development of sales the business. Your duties will include:

  • Manage direct reports, providing guidance, support and feedback.
  • Supporting external sales team
  • Plan and supervise day-to-day sales and operational activities
  • Driving sales and profit growth through efficient processes and robust sales plan
  • Liaise with managers and directors to define and measure KPI's and strategic goals
  • Review sales and key account management processes against objectives
  • Oversee key account customer care processes and activity to improve customer satisfaction
  • Report departmental performance and achievements by collecting, analysing, interpreting and communicating data
  • Build and manage relationships with stakeholders of key customers alongside internal stakeholders (such as order processing, warehousing, logistics and after-sales departments)
  • Effectively communicate key messages, feedback and changes to wider company team
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, coaching and management of team
  • Create and implement sales strategies, promotions and new product ideas to the business
  • Ownership and management of the pricing strategy for the business
  • Supporting business through effective demand planning for key account inventory and sales forecasting
  • Communication through adhoc customer visits and calls
  • Presenting to board level, customers, internal teams on progress, plans, sales etc
  • Other Key tasks as required of the business
  • Ensure strategic account development plans for each customer are continually updated in line with the current budget requirements with all current relevant information, including mutual objectives and performance reviews.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous experience working in a Key Account Manager role selling into the construction and or retail market. You will have a pro-active approach to business development Self-motivated Excellent customer focus Strong experience in managing teams Demonstrable skills, in-depth knowledge and experience across sales teams, key account management, leading a sales team Proven ability to lead direct reports to achieve departmental and company goals Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present effectively to stakeholders at all levels Experience using, analysing and reporting data from an ERP and CRM system Experience with working on supply of goods to retail, showrooms or online consumers (both B2B & B2C)
