Preparation of highly accurate, informative and timely financial and management reports, including:
Monthly management accounts
Balance Sheet reconciliations, to ensure integrity and a thorough understanding
Half year and full year reporting in line with Group requirements
Annual budget and periodic forecast preparation with detailed support
Financial, commercial and project analysis to support the business
Thorough audit preparation and confident communication with Auditors
Continually implementing and improving effective controls and processes
Ensuring all transactions are processed in accordance with the correct accounting treatment and standards
Business partnering to ensure key business drivers are understood by the wider business and actions taken to improve business performance
Statutory accounts preparation
Preparation of Corporation tax schedules and VAT returns
Key skills of the Management Accountant:
A qualified Accountant - ACA, CIMA, ACCA
2 years + post qualification experience
Technically strong, with a high level of management accounting expertise essential
Analytically competent and naturally inclined to challenge processes and procedures to find practical alternatives
Proactive, conscientious and inquisitive with a 'can do' attitude
Fully conversant with UK GAAP with IFRS knowledge
The ability to quickly adapt to a complex operating environment and engender confidence through involvement with department heads, senior management and financial staff
A confident individual with strong communication skills at all levels and across all disciplines
Systems proficiency in Sage, Excel and general accounting and reporting software
