Job Description

We are looking for an employee, this position requires someone who is experienced and used to working under pressure. Our business has grown considerably in the last two years and needs an operations person who has an accounting background. The successful applicant will earn a competitive salary dependent on skills and experience. Role Responsibilities:

  • Management of all account functions.
  • Produce weekly accounts payable and receivable reports to send to Directors
  • Work with the external accountant to ensure all statutory return deadlines to HMRC (including VAT and PAYE) and CIS payments are submitted timeously.
  • Utilize the HMRC Government Gateway for contractor verification and Vat reverse charge within the CIS scheme.
  • Reconciliation of accounts on a daily/weekly/monthly/Quarterly basis to ensure prompt debtor receipts and creditor payment are actioned.
  • Ensure all data entries into Xero are managed and accurate.
  • Work together within the payment processor team.
  • Work alongside subsidiary companies within the Group.
  • Monthly staff payroll submissions to be sent timeously to outsource payroll
  • Small HR roll includes admin for on boarding of new employees
  • Recording of staff leave

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Full working knowledge of Xero accounting software. 5+ years’ experience in an accounting and management position. 2+ years’ experience in the construction or building industry would be beneficial. Knowledge of HMRC Government Gateway. Book keeping to trial balance. Debtor and Creditor management. Able to produce and present monthly management accounts to the Directors. Able to work well with external contractors and suppliers. A self-starter who is able to work on their own initiative who is very organized and diligent. Education: A-Level or equivalent (preferred). Experience: Accounting: 5 years (required).
