Job Description
This is a proactive role where your focus will be on identifying apprenticeship vacancies with new and existing customers and providing them with suitable apprentices around the UK. Reporting to the Head of Client Engagement, you will be responsible for identifying and gaining new clients/accounts across multiple sectors. You will develop relationships with employers and learners to achieve your monthly targets and key performance indicators. You will play a key role in meeting our growth plans.
Brief summary of principle accountabilities
The role of Business Development Consultant is to increase the placement of candidates within apprenticeship, traineeship and adult skills opportunities and build relationships with employers, promoting our services through effective sales techniques.
The role will be based from an office; however, employer sales visits/H&S will be required. Cold calls and outbound calls are a requirement within the role.
To achieve, as a minimum, the monthly targets for apprenticeship placements as set by the business.
To focus all sales activity to our’s core Financial Services, digital, IT and Accounting offer.
Generate new business through effective telephone, marketing and customer engagement activities by ensuring that the company’s minimum standards are matched and exceeded.
Demonstrate the ability to telephone based business develop.
Arrange apprenticeship interviews with both the employer and learner, working closely with Candidate Engagement Resourcers.
Ensure you obtain both learner and employer feedback post interview for each candidate to discuss with them.
Maintain existing business and maximise potential by carrying out regular client service calls and investigating opportunities during all contact which can include reverse marketing calls.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Extensive Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Customer (B2C) experience • Experience of selling Government funded training (D) • Experience in recruitment, marketing or sales (E) • Experience of delivering high level of service and satisfaction (E) • Experience of successfully achieving deadlines and working without close supervision (E) • Experience of liaising with employers and external agencies (E) • Experience of managing databases / CRM systems for lead generation (E) • Experience self-motivating to achieve KPIs and targets (E) • Experience of successfully achieving targets and deadlines whilst working without close supervision (E) • IT literate and proficient in Microsoft Office particularly the Word, Excel and Outlook (D) • Hold a clean driving license with access to a vehicle (D)
