Prospectus is delighted to be supporting The Rank Prize Funds as they look for their new Executive Secretary to support the Trustees and Committees in fulfilling their duties to the fund. They are looking to bring in this position on a part time basis, 4 days a week, starting mid-November to ensure time for a handover with the current post-holder. This role will be home-based with occasional travel required to central London and Cumbria.
The Rank Prize Fund plays an important part in recognising and supporting advances in two areas of science, Human & Animal Nutrition and Crop Husbandry, and Opto-electronics. The Funds are administered by a group of distinguished Trustees who have appointed two eminent Advisory Committees to advise them on how best to achieve the aims of the Founder. The role of Executive Secretary is vital to the smooth running of the organisation and the Fund. You will lead the day to day administration of the Fund, including managing the work of the Administrator/Communications Officer.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a similar role, with good understanding of how charities operate and trustee's responsibilities. You will have experience of working with senior academic staff either in a research intensive University or with a charity or fund. Experience of remote working is essential as well as the ability to work effectively with a distributed workforce. Finally, you will also have experience with event management and website maintenance.
