Job Description

The key thing here is to have experience administering Windows server farms (you will have responsibility for 100+ servers) – this experience may have come from a traditional System Administration background, or could have been gained from working in 3rd line support. Some network engineering experience, and knowledge of networking protocols, will also be required. 

A number of the servers are cloud based (Azure), but Azure / cloud experience is not essential and on-the-job training in this area can be provided - the same for PowerShell scripting. The role will transition to have more of a DevOps focus over time.

You will be joining a business who promote flexible working - the role will initially be fully remote, with the option to do 2/3 days a week from home long-term. Their offices are based in Central Bristol, a short walk from Temple Meads station.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A Windows System Admin / 3rd Line Support background Solid experience administering Windows servers (including remote desktop installations, Active Directory management etc.) Cloud / Azure experience beneficial but not essential An understanding of networking and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP etc.) Scripting experience would be a bonus
