The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with legal costs and be able to draft Bill of Costs, Statements of Costs and Costs Schedules for claimant Personal Injury files.
Roles & Responsibilities
Preparing costs schedules on personnel injury files, which include RTA, Employers Liability and Pubic Liability claims, including Portal, FRC and time costed files
Ensure that all cases are dealt with in compliance with Solicitors' Accounts Rules
Administering cost breakdowns and entering data
Creating costing breakdowns / estimates for negotiation, allocation and pre-trial questionnaires
Drafting N260 firms, also known as Statement of Costs Forms
Preparing documentation, forms and papers
Filing, scanning and archiving files
Maintaining and entering data, managing via spreadsheets
Assisting Costs Lawyer with day to day activities and tasks as required
Preparing cost breakdowns for negotiation
Preparing estimates in support of Allocation and Pre-Trial questionnaires
Drafting N260 forms, also known as Statement of Costs Forms
Assisting in cost budgeting process
Liaising with external Cost Lawyers when necessary
Working with external Cost Draftsmen and Litigation Fee-Earners
Negotiating with medical agencies and Counsel to lower amount of fees where appropriate
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in costs drafting administration Committed, hardworking and willing to learn Experienced in operating in a pressurised and highly motivated team environment Ability to work on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision Flexible, organised and can communicate clearly with people at all levels Excellent IT skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office programmes is essential
