Accountancy Practice - Hertfordshire

£35,000 - £50,000

A commercially astute and successful accountancy firm based in Hertfordshire whose clients cover both commerce and industry supplying a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT, business recovery and forensic accounting are recruiting for a senior Bookkeeper to join their team.

The role will involve be responsible for a growing portfolio of clients to ensure all work is completed against budget and deadlines. Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, double entry bookkeeping, client billing, producing cash flow forecasts and budgets, VAT returns and reconciliations, payroll and PAYE. The role is also responsible for the supervision, review and development of staff.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Experience working within a Practice environment.
• Strong knowledge in Microsoft Excel and at least a good working knowledge of Cloud Accounting software (Xero/QBO etc.) and SAGE Line 50 (the primary packages used)
• Qualified or QBE
• Experience supervising and managing staff
• Be personable and approachable
• Be a team player with initiative and drive
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
• Proactive with the desire to succeed and take on responsibility

The ideal candidate must be willing and able to travel to clients where necessary, most of whom are located within the M25 and London area.
