Job Description

The main duties of the Administrator will include:

  • First point of contact for staff and students, dealing with enquiries both face to face, via email and telephone.
  • Ordering goods and services such as stationery and furniture or making hotel bookings
  • Supporting the organization of events such as open days, seminars, conferences, public engagement programmes, social events (e.g. booking catering or hotels, liaising with room bookings or IT support)
  • Amending and updating social media channels, web pages or other sources of information
  • Scheduling and minting meetings and committees
  • Assisting with the coordination of teaching provision and timetabling
  • Supporting the module registration process, assisting students with basic queries or escalating as necessary
  • Setting up and updating registers in student attendance monitoring system in collaboration with team members and academic colleagues
  • Loading assessment and examinations materials onto Moodle
  • Setting up Moodle Turn it in sites, monitoring submission throughout the year and liaising with the Teaching and Student Support Officer(s) on any late or non-submissions
  • Entering and processing marks of assessed work into student information system

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal Administrator will have the following knowledge, skills and experience: Experience of working in higher and/or further education. Experience of team-working in a busy office environment meeting tight deadlines. Excellent written and spoken English. Degree educated or equivalent. Previous experience in administration. Good level of IT skills, including Microsoft office. Good understanding of data handling and analysis. Experience of working in a customer focused environment.
