Exciting opportunity to join their In House Development Team. The team are responsible for the development of council owned land and the creation of new build council houses throughout the district.
Main Purpose:
* To assist the project management of New Build Developments
* Budget monitoring of development work
* Ensure compliance with site regulations/legislation
* General Administration duties for the In House Development Team
Job Duties:
* Assisting in tender evaluation of external contractors works
* Liaise with Utility Companies regarding utility installations and service diversions
* Liaise with contractors regarding development work
* Ensure Site Supervisors remain compliant with safe systems of work, such as Health and Safety and that information is accurate and up to date
* Monthly monitoring of site budgets with colleagues in the Finance Team
* Raise Purchase Orders for suppliers and contractors as needed
* Liaise with Building Control regarding Building & Demolition Notices
* Arrange the naming/numbering of new build properties
* Liaise with LABC Warranty to obtain warranty for new build developments
* Inform the Health and Safety Executive of any reportable development sites
* Monitor van use/operatives working hours via vehicle trackers and timesheets
* Ensure all staff have the required uniform and Personal Protective Equipment
* Carry out face fit mask tests for all onsite staff to ensure operative safety
* Arrange wider team meetings regarding housing development and ensure accurate recording of actions
* Carry out quarterly van checks/inspections
* Ensure material stock inventory is kept up to date
* Carry out all administration duties required by the In House Development Team
* Input new build and acquired properties onto the iWorld Housing System
* Ensure all paperwork is kept up to date for audit purposes
Carry out service searches on potential new build sites
Key Requirements:
Essential
* Experience of Microsoft Office Applications, in particular Microsoft Excel to a high standard
* Good educational background including English and Maths
* Experience of Agresso or similar finance package
* Experience of Northgate iWorld or similar database
* Practical experience of administration duties
* Experience of dealing with a range of contacts
* Experience of monitoring budgets
* Understanding of construction
* Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation
* Proactive, organised, motivated and able to work independently and use initiative
* Strong interpersonal and decision making skills
* Adaptable to an agile/mobile working environment
* Willingness to attend training as necessary
Desirable
* Experience of local government procurement legislation and best practice
