Job Description

We are looking to appoint an experienced School Administrator who will provide a professional ‘front of the house’ service as well as administration and secretarial support for our busy and vibrant school office. The position is for 5 days a week, term-time only.

We wish to appoint a candidate who will meet and greet everyone in a warm and welcoming manner. Can communicate effectively with staff, parents, pupils, visitors; and contractors ensuring they are aware of safeguarding, and fire evacuation procedures.

We are looking for someone who will use initiative to support the Head teacher, Senior Leadership Team and other school staff. Who remains calm and positive under pressure and is flexible, adaptable, and able to multi task, to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team. The person needs to be self-motivated and has personal drive to complete tasks to required timescales and quality standards.

They will lead and manage a range of communication methods e.g. texting, e-mails, Teachers 2 Parents software. Assist staff with planning and booking school trips i.e. coaches, payments, etc. Will be responsible for the maintenance of the school’s website and upkeep of the school diary including the Head teacher’s appointments and liaise with the school nurse and other organizations.

Being bilingual in a community language relevant to the school context (i.e. Punjabi), would be desirable.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The candidate should have a good working knowledge of Capita Sims, to lead on administration of admissions and liaise with the LA admissions’ team. They will be responsible for all aspects of pupil data management and statistical returns e.g. Admissions, Pupil census, Free School Meals Administration, Pupil Premium and Ever 6 data, Milk Returns etc. The candidate must have an excellent level of literacy and ICT skills and be committed to safeguarding, confidentiality and promoting the welfare of children in accordance with school polices and GDPR.
