Job Description: CAD Technician / Technical Administrator : Instrumentation Manufacturer

You might have seen or used our products before in your home, or in your workplace. We’re a branded designer / manufacturer and we’re proud of our products. Our portable handheld safety units are analogue & digital electronics & have their own power supply.

This is a really important role for us, reporting into the Engineering Manager supporting the R&D team (6 engineers) on anything from supplier issues for design or manufacturing, CAD administration, updating schematics, compiling new or amending existing Bill of Materials & anything else our Design Engineers might need your help with.

Your Responsibilities: CAD Technician / Technical Administrator : Instrumentation Manufacturer

 

• General technical & CAD administration & overall support to our R&D Department including compiling & updating BOM’s & sub BOM’s & updating Schematics for any re manufacturing
• Deal with suppliers in the Far East on any issues & queries
• Work on our PDM & ERP system

Your background:

 

• You’ve previously worked within an R&D department covering draughting, bill of materials & administrative support
• Experience of PLM / PDM administration
• Knowledge of CAD software’s (open on packages)
• Working knowledge of BOM structures

You will likely have an engineering qualification, but we don’t mind if that is from a degree/HND/HNC or you could have done an apprenticeship gaining an ONC etc. You might only be qualified by experience – that’s also fine.

Personality wise, you will need to be a great team player, a strong communicator, have good attention to detail, & be able to take ownership of this role.
