Job Description

Job Introduction

We are looking for Assistant Accountant to join us on the permanent basis.
The role is within the core Operational Finance team reporting to the
Cost Team Manager.


Principle activities will relate to the close of the monthly ledgers, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, prepayment and accrual processes, fixed asset accounting, production of statutory accounts, board paper preparation and ensuring the accuracy of cost transactions within the ledgers.

Role Responsibility

  • Intercompany & P&L Reconciliations
  • Balance sheet and P&L review and production of account reconciliations.
  • Bank reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items
  • Prepayments and accrual processes, and associated journal entries
  • Recharging sundry debtors
  • Accounting for fixed assets
  • Corporate cash management and daily reporting
  • Production of year end statutory accounts
  • Liaising with other departments to gain better cost understanding
  • Working with Finance management team to support delivery of accurate financial information to the business.
  • Analytical review of costs to support management accounts.
  • Audit query resolution

The Ideal Candidate

Experience:
 

  • Experience of a Financial Services organisation and core ledger accounting roles would be an advantage.

Skills:
- Numeracy

  • Accuracy & attention to detail
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and great team working skills
  • PC skills; advanced Excel, Finance software (Great Plains and Cognos FSR an advantage)
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines

Qualifications:
- Part Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA); you will be expected to continue to study CIMA/ACCA as a prerequisite for the role.
