Job Description

Financial stability is a key focus in our strategic plan and the Sales Ledger and Credit Control Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring that the Group achieves outstanding results for students through sound financial strategy and practice.

We are looking for a motivated and pro-active individual to be part of a team of staff assisting in the delivery of a full range of finance department activities.

As a Sales Ledger and Credit Control Supervisor, your main objective will be to manage and maintain the sales ledger and credit control functions on a day to day basis, providing operational supervision for the Sales Ledger and Credit Control Assistant and supporting the wider Finance teams.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all income due to the Group is invoiced promptly and in line with Financial Regulations and Administration Procedures. You will also ensure that Direct Debits are set up and collected in a timely manner and to post monies received into the finance system and allocate accurately.

Other key aspects to the role are to assist in the management of the College’s FE and HE loans and to ensure month end close down is completed in line with the College’s monthly timetable.

Have you got what it takes?

Excellent communication skills are essential to ensuring a smooth service as you will be liaising with customers with respect to queries and overdue payments with an overall view to reducing outstanding levels of debt as well as liaising with internal departments as and where required.

You should also be AAT qualified and have a level 2 (GCSE) in both maths and English. If you do not possess these qualifications, if you have the right skills and experience, then we will support you to achieve these whilst you are with us.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong IT skills are required in order to maintain and develop the sales ledger module within the finance database to ensure it is used to the best effect. Previous operational use of finance-based systems would be ideal in this role.
