Your daily duties will include:
• Lead on the production of annual UK statutory accounts and audit, and act as first point of contact for support on internal and external audit queries
• Support the Director of Finance with the project expenditure forecasts, review actual versus budget/forecast costs in conjunction with budget holder reviews
• Lead the continued development and implementation of new finance systems and reporting tools to meet the needs of the business
• Assist the project budget holders by identifying and delivering financial reporting requirements for new funding proposals
• Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports, analysis and forecasts for the Director of Finance and SMT
• Review and produce donor reports in line with donor requirements and deadlines
• Work with the Assistant Accountant to ensure that all balance sheet accounts that relate to country offices are reconciled, including accrued & deferred income
• Management and development of accounts receivables and accounts payables
• Review VAT transactions and submit returns to HMRC, including Charity Commission annual returns
• Pro-actively identify new ways of working and solutions to problems, including compliance areas
The successful candidate will be an experienced ACA/ACCA qualified accountant who ideally has at least two years’ experience working within a similar charitable organisation. With experience in working with delivering and producing charity accounts aligned with the required reporting requirements, SORP.
