Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our financial accounting team for an interim assistant financial accountant, covering a period of maternity leave. This is a varied role and will involve deputizing and supporting the group financial accountant.

You will be getting involved in bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliations, journals, statistical returns, assisting with forecasts and budgets, maintaining the capital expenditure function and other ad hoc accountancy based tasks, as well as treasury cover upon request.
You will be supporting the financial accountant to make sure that the monthly and yearly returns are completed on time and with the team meet deadlines for both company and group reporting. There is a lot of change going through our company at the moment and at times you may be tasked with work that will allow you to use your accounting skills to the fullest.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To be successful in this role it is essential that you have the following skills: At least AAT qualified. Experience of working in a busy and complex accounting function in a mid or large size organization. The ability to meet multiple conflicting deadlines and the ability to priorities your workload. Strong stakeholder communication skills to allow you to coordinate contributions to complete the statutory accounts. The ability to pick up new knowledge and keen to learn IFRS and GAAP principles.
