Job Description

In this role you will report to the Finance Officer within the Division for the study of Law, Society and Social Justice and work closely with other divisional finance staff in order to deliver all aspects of the Division's financial requirements in line with service level agreements and University financial regulations.

You will:

  • support the divisional Finance & Resources team as required, in close liaison with other staff with a finance related portfolio, ensuring operational efficiency and compliancy
  • act as first point of contact for general finance queries ensuring excellent customer service is provided, taking ownership of queries by ensuring resolution or escalation, and adhering to all appropriate legislation, University and Divisional guidelines and policies
  • administer procurement processes to ensure the Division's financial administration meets University guidelines and financial regulations; ensuring they are recorded and reconciled correctly

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To be successful in this role you will have/be: GCSE English and Math (grade C/4 or above) or equivalent. foundation level financial qualification (e.g. AAT) actively studying towards full qualification, or willingness to undertake; or equivalent. high level of accuracy and attention to detail. excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to explain financial processes to non-financial staff. good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages and a good understanding of databases and spreadsheets.
