Job Description

As a Teaching Assistant in Plymouth you can work either full time or part time, this is up to you. Here at Hays we work with local Primary schools and SEN settings. You must be flexible in your approach to work as you may need to cover day to day sickness and in some settings also providing long term cover where needed. As a Teaching Assistant you will be tasked with interacting with the children and helping with their development. You may be also be required to support children on a one to one basis and providing interventions to smaller groups.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

In order to succeed as a Teaching Assistant you must hold a level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or the equivalent or if you are unqualified have at least 40 days of experience in schools. It is essential that you have experience working in a primary school or early years setting in the last 5 years. You must be flexible in your approach to work but will have the choice on whether you would like to work part time or full time. Finally you must have a real desire to work with children in the Early years stage of life.
