Job Description
- Carry out sampling such as swabbing, water sample collection, allergen sampling, raw materials, finished product etc.
- Log samples onto external laboratory system and arrange sample collection.
- Carry out organoleptic assessments (quality, pH, TSS, viscosity etc.) on products / materials as part of the site quality control function.
- Complete intake raw material checks and process COA/COC from suppliers.
- Maintain product reference samples.
- Complete calibration/verification checks on all requirement test equipment on site and maintain calibration database.
- Carry out chemical titration checks.
- Complete internal GMP/CCP audits as per agreed schedule with the technical management team.
- Conduct incoming fruit testing, input results on soft fruit, apple & vine fruit databases.
- Assist with processing disposals. Maintain hold and release procedures. Managing and physically returning rejects back onto factory master.
- Check stock against weekly expiry shelf-life report and action.
- Collating, checking, and filing production and QA completed documentation.
- Liaise with operations, production, goods in and warehouse teams to identify non-conformities, assist with solutions and ensure appropriate action is taken to prevent defective products from being manufactured and dispatched.
- Where required, respond to technical related queries, and carry out necessary investigations.
- Assist Technical Management team with customer and 3rd party audits/visits as required.
- Help drive continuous improvement in food safety & quality assurance and promote efficiency.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Previous experience within a food quality/technical role. Internal auditor qualification. Level 2/3 HACCP & Food Hygiene. Computer Literate (Outlook, Excel, Word & Power Point). Confident, Passionate & Assertive outgoing nature.
