Job Description

To interact with the other departments within M&G and external counter-parties in order to provide an effective and efficient settlement service.

  • Receive broker confirmations so they can match in Aladdin and resolve any discrepancies
  • Resolve any discrepancies in Aladdin trades and FX’s with the brokers and custodians.
  • To ensure all trades are sent within the custodian cut off times
  • Investigate and resolve any transaction discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Ensure all Aladdin exceptions dashboards are investigated, acted upon and resolved in a timely manner to avoid any late trades to fund accounting and custody
  • Obtain pre-approval for force matched trades & justify in Aladdin.
  • Ensure no Cash Recs or Stock Recs. Investigate, resolve and update relevant
  • Aladdin entry for each item, escalating to Manager if necessary.
  • Complete daily check lists
  • Check the daily overdraft report
  • Identify & propose control improvements within the team, for efficiency or risk reduction
  • Awareness of Client Money rules, including escalation
  • Updating Broker SSI’s and sending them onto Data Management / Checking Aladdin setup once completed to ensure Aladdin is correct.
  • Working with the Front office and broker on any new counterparty setup’s
  • Provide Custodian feedback to the custody and oversight team
  • Ensure that Securities Settlements control framework that includes Procedure
  • Manuals and Check Lists are up to-date

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To support our Global dealings desks in Singapore, London and Chicago for Equities and Fixed Income. Market expert, placing, IPO’s (initial public offerings) market local fees and taxes knowledge. To have an understanding of Market FX’s to support the settlement of restricted market trades. Market Due Diligences knowledge. Understanding Market updates provided from our custodians and counterparties. To have some knowledge on markets needing a license, trading code or POA. Required: 2 years Operational experience. And Experienced Global Market knowledge, counterparty / custodian knowledge. Ability to work within in a team. Ability to work under pressure and adhere to multiple deadlines. Organized and proactive. Ability to multi-task.
