Job Description

To provide a high standard of care as part of the Physiotherapy team, assessing and treating patients with reduced mobility, resulting from a variety of conditions, to facilitate maximal recovery of function and coordinated, timely discharges from hospital.

  • Supports clinicians with their caseload of patients for reduced mobility, muscle strength and flexibility, working within framework agreed by physiotherapy.
  • Plans and undertakes individual therapeutic assessments of patients and uses findings to plan, provide and modify rehabilitation programme.
  • Continually monitors patient’s response to rehabilitation programme, evaluating outcomes and adapting input as appropriate, liaising when necessary with therapy staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Holds own caseload of patients with reduced mobility, working within framework agreed by physiotherapy
  • To participate in the weekend working Rota (1 in 5 weekends)

We are looking for an experienced, caring person to work within our existing physiotherapy team providing a high standard of care as part of the outpatient and inpatient physiotherapy services. Within the role you will provide clinical assessment and treatments under the supervision of qualified staff, prepare and maintain safe clinical areas and maintain stock levels, as well as provide administrative support to the physiotherapy department. You will also run patient land based and hydrotherapy exercise classes, on completion of training.
The current vacancy is with the Musculoskeletal Outpatients Team at Northwick Park Hospital with some work with the Orthopedic Team at Northwick Park Hospital. . You will also be responsible for assisting in the triaging and prioritization of the caseload also.
Previous experience in a similar role is essential, whilst area specific training will be provided. Excellent Interpersonal skills are also essential as you will be required to liaise with clinicians, patients / careers, community teams and GPs, as appropriate.
